McGregor/Mayweather Speculation "A Publicity Stunt"- Nate Diaz
Nate Diaz has had his say on speculation over a potential fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jnr.
Diaz, who beat McGregor at UFC 196 in March, was speaking in an interview with The MMA Hour on Wednesday.
He has insisted the rumoured boxing match between the pair is just a publicity stunt because, as he puts it, “they're trying to hide the fact that he got his ass whooped”.
"It's great for both of them”, he added.
“Boxing followers will start following Conor, MMA followers are going to start following Floyd.
“They're all benefiting, and no one is losing, so they're going to keep the ball rolling.”
Diaz has also confirmed that he and the UFC are in negotiations over a deal for a rematch with McGregor at UFC 202 in August.
McGregor said last week that he had met with UFC bosses over a possible fight.
The rematch had been due to take place at UFC 200 in July, but was pulled after McGregor fell out with UFC over media obligations ahead of the event.
