Jose Aldo OUT of McGregor Fight
Jose Aldo has withdrawn from the UFC title bout with Conor McGregor on the 11th of July.
The Brazilian suffered a rib injury in training last week.
It had been hoped the featherweight champion would be able to fight anyway.
But the UFC have confirmed that Aldo has withdrawn due to the injury.
"Aldo's rib is too painful and he will not be fighting", said UFC President Dana White.
"It's (Aldo's) decision. I don't feel great about it. We've spent a lot of money promoting this fight and a lot of people were excited. It's definitely disappointing."
McGregor will now fight Chad Mendes, who had been on standby since news of Aldo's injury broke, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas at UFC 189.
That bout will be for the interim 145-pound crown.
