Irish Actor To Star In Les Miserables When Musical Comes To Dublin
It's been confirmed that an Irish musical performer will play one of the lead roles in Les Miserables when the musical comes to Dublin later this year.
Killian Donnelly will play ‘Jean Valjean’ at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in a six week run which starts in December.
The actor already plays the role in the West End production of Les Misérables, and has also starred in Kinky Boots, The Commitments, The Phantom of the Opera and Memphis.
The Broadway production of Les Misérables will run at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from Wednesday 5 December 2018 – Saturday 12 January 2019.
It has been produced by Cameron Mackintosh, who has also brought shows like Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins and Miss Saigon, to Dublin.
Cameron Mackintosh said he is "delighted that Killian said to me that he would like to continue playing Jean Valjean."
"The first Irishman to play the role since Colm Wilkinson in the original – I have no doubt bringing Killian home to Dublin will be a great occasion and I’m delighted that from advance bookings, this new tour looks set to be sold out before we open".
Les Misérables will run at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from Wednesday 5 December 2018 – Saturday 12 January 2019.
