Ireland Step Closer To Allowing Piss-ups In Breweries
Ireland has moved a step closer to allowing piss-ups in breweries. The Cabinet's agreed to accept a Labour bill which would allow craft breweries to sell their own products to visitors afterwards.
However it's decided that it will amend the bill so that people will only be allowed to take a drink once they've completed a tour first. Breweries will also be considered equal to other pubs, and will have to go to court once a year to get their licence renewed.
Welcoming the Government decision, the Justice Minister, Charlie Flanagan, T.D. said "allowing visitors who have completed a Craft Brewery or Distillery tour to purchase alcohol product on the premises will add to the visitor experience."
"The Government amendments will ensure appropriate oversight on the sale of alcohol at such premises", he said.
