Facebook Buys App That Encourages Compliments
Facebook has bought a new app which is designed to encourage teenagers to be nice to each other.
tbh - which stands for To Be Honest - rewards users for sending compliments through messages and polls.
Facebook says it's bought the app as part of plans to tackle online negativity, and to help people build healthier relationships.
The app, which is only available in some states in the U.S. at the moment, has been downloaded five million times in the last couple of months and has 2.5 million daily users.
It is designed to let users anonymously answer kind-hearted multiple-choice questions about friends, who then receive the poll results as compliments.
tbh comes pre-loaded with positive questions like "Who is most likely to be President?" and "Could win an Olympic gold medal for their eyeliner game?".
