Drivers Reminded To Obey Temporary M7 Speed Limit
Gardai are reminding drivers to obey a temporary speed limit on the M7 Motorway.
The limit has been reduced to 60 kilometers and hour during roadworks, which are expected to last until 2020.
The new speed limit in place between Junction 9 & Junction 10, but officers warn as work progress the road layout and speed limit will change.
"Our primary focus is on preservation of life, reducing the obvious danger to workers on site and to all road users", a statement from Gardai explained.
One driver has already been arrested for driving at 141Kph in the new 60Kph zone.
Gardai have warned that there is no hard shoulder in place on parts of the M7, which would make it difficult for emergency services to get to any crashes.
