Cycling Deaths On The Rise
Twice as many people died in cycling accidents last year than in 2013.
Last year 12 cyclists were killed and provisional figures indicate the trend is continuing in 2015, with at least five cycling-related deaths in the first half of the year according to the Irish Times.
The CSO says there are 10 percent more cyclists on the roads in recent years.
While those on bikes make up just 2 percent of road traffic, they account for 8 percent of injuries.
