The intended target in yesterday's double murder in Ballymun is related to the female victim Antoinette Corbally.
The innocent mum of six in her 40s and bystander in his 30s were gunned down yesterday in a chaotic ambush on Balbutcher Drive.
The male victim still hasn't been identified by Gardai. A neighbour has told 98FM News she tried to save him.
"I said I'll help because I could see the bullet wounds. He had three shots to him. So I tried to revive him back... just keep him going. And then the police came and I just kept going and going and going."
The target of the gun attack was Derek 'Bottler' Devoy, a violent criminal who is Antoinette's brother. Their brother known as 'Mad Mickey' was killed by the Kinahan cartel in January 2014 following his release from prison in Portlaoise.
It's understood Derek had been travelling in a car with the man in his 30s when they stopped off at Antoinette's home. Derek had been carrying a young toddler into the house when the shooting happened.
A second toddler and two other people who were there at the time were injured, however their wounds are not life threatening.
Gardai are hunting for two masked gunmen and are trying to piece together the movements of two cars before the killings.
They're appealing to anyone with information about a silver Opel Zafira with an 08 Laois reg, and a Volkswagen Golf GTI with an 06 Louth reg. They're particularly interested in speaking to delivery drivers who may have dashcam footage.
The Golf was later found partially burnt out nearby on Santry Close.
The killings are being linked to a year-long local drugs feud, rather than the ongoing Hutch Kinahan gangland war.
Detectives fear there may be revenge attacks amid tension in the area.
