Australian Teenager 'Hacked Into Apple's Secure Network'
A teenager says he hacked into Apple's main computer network because he's a fan of the company, a court has heard.
The 16-year-old Australian - who can't be named due to his age - saved large internal files and customer accounts to a folder called "hacky hack hack", lawyers said.
The children's court in Melbourne heard he wants to work for the firm one day.
He is said to have downloaded around 90GB of files.
Apple is reported to have contacted the FBI after becoming aware of the hack, and the matter was referred to Australian Federal Police.
The court heart that the boy's home was searched last year.
A prosecutor told the court: "A mobile phone and hard drive were also seized and the IP address... matched the intrusions into the organisation.
"The purpose was to connect remotely to the company's internal systems."
Following a guilty plea, the boy will be sentenced next month.
